Round 5: 8h of Zandvoort✅

After a tough qualifying session, it was the very first FunCup race and the first time at Circuit Zandvoort – in the rain – for Gilles Thiers. He took the start, which proved to be the right decision, as he launched brilliantly and moved up to P28. After around three hours we were running P24 overall, until one of the drivers made a small mistake and ended up in the gravel. No drama, but it did drop us back to P38. Our drivers showed their best and fought their way back to P28 overall. An important step forward in the championship!

For the #518 it was also a tough qualifying, and after the draw we had to start from P30. Michiel took the start and went on the attack straight away, moving up to P15. We controlled the race and focused on keeping a strong and consistent pace, which paid off with a great P8 overall and P2 in the Fun class!

After a fantastic start and battling in the top 6 overall with a comfortable lead in the Pure class with the fastest lap during the first 6 hours, our dream came to an end — the engine gave out.
Thanks to our amazing team, we managed to replace the engine and finish the race!
None of this would have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our top team — thank you!

Our Iceboys drove a flawless race, kept a cool head, and brought home a solid result — especially impressive with several new drivers, including rookies, on the team!

Our biplace car, which brought tons of super happy passengers along for the ride during the race, steadily climbed the ranks to P3 up until the final 3 hours. Unfortunately, one of the drivers got caught up in an unavoidable crash. Still, they had the pace — setting the fastest lap in their class!

They had a tough start, dropping back to P94 — almost dead last — after a minor contact. But they fought their way back, charging into the Top 10 and even into podium contention in the Fun class. Unfortunately, bad luck struck again: the paddle shift system gave out, forcing us to fall back to P25.

A weekend full of setbacks…
But thanks to our determination, all four of our cars made it to the finish line!
Huge thanks to all our drivers for showing the true potential of the car — putting us in the lead in both the Pure and Fun classes during the race🤩
And of course, a massive shout-out to our mechanics for the hard work before and during the race. None of this would’ve been possible without you!
